Overview

Day 01 Drive to Pekhri Village ( one hour – 2170 meters) .

Day 02 Trek from Rangthar to Marhauni - 3-4 hrs Overnight Camp :

Day 03 Day Trek from Marhauni to Lakcha Thatch & back to Marhauni

Day 04 Marhauni to Park Gate : On day 4 you leave Marahni and long descent towards the Park gate.

Day 05 : River Campsite to GHNP Park Gate and back to Goshaini.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01 Drive to Pekhri Village ( one hour – 2170 meters) .
From here we start our Excursion trek to Rangthar where one would have Picnic Lunch on the way. After a steep hike you will arrive in the beautiful meadows of Rangthar thatch which will be our camping halt for the first night of the trek. Activities : Tent pitching & Forest Exploration & Wildlife watching session(The birds of GHNP are an important part of the Park's biological diversity and an attraction for bird watchers. The Park fallswithin one of the globally important Endemic Bird Areas identified by the ICDPBiodiversity Project.) Camp Fire o/n Stay at a dome tent ( Double sharing )

Day 02 Trek from Rangthar to Marhauni - 3-4 hrs Overnight Camp :
This beautiful trek on the ridge takes you from an altitude of 2500 meters to 3000 meters. Birds to watch out for at Lakcha  include Lammergeiers, Golden Eagles and Himalayan Griffons. Lakcha is a grassy meadow surrounded by trees and rhododendron with a beautiful view across the valley towards the snow covered mountains reaching highs of 4000 meters . o/n Camp

Day 03 Day Trek from Marhauni to Lakcha Thatch & back to Marhauni
The sunset at Marahni offers mind-blowing sceneries. Your day at Marahni will be unforgettable. You may either follow further the crest of the mountain to reach a small summit from where you can see both the valleys, Tirthan and Sainj. You will also discover some higher icy peaks of the Park, see the plains of Punjab, the Dhauladhar range and the peaks above Manali. Another option is to roam around in the adjacnt oak forests for observing wildlife. Or you can simply rest and enjoy your time at Marahni. Second night at Marahni

Day 04 Marhauni to Park Gate : On day 4 you leave Marahni and long descent towards the Park gate.
It is a long descent from 3580 m to 2000 m in altitude. You are back in the ecozone and have your lunch in the very charming village of Sungcha. You reach the Park gate in the afternoon. The camp is set up at the river side (Tirthan). You enjoy a completely different natural environment.

Day 05 : River Campsite to GHNP Park Gate and back to Goshaini.
Today we will go for a slight uphill trek crossing the Rhododendron Jungle of Kharongcha and then have packed lunch by the Hippo Fall and come back to the roadhead at Goshaini. Trek Tour Ends
